Movie Storyline

Amidst the twists and turns of the story, the audience is left wondering whether Manoj Kumar Singh will succeed in his difficult journey and turn his dreams into reality. Will his struggles and the support he receives help him achieve his goal?

Through this unique and captivating story, viewers have the opportunity to join the important journey of a man’s life. Inspired by the book by Anurag Pathak, ‘Diwali Wala Rocket or NASA Wala Rocket Ka Principal’ is a unique narrative attempting to touch upon various aspects of Indian society.

’12th Fail’ narrates the life journey of IPS officer Manoj Kumar Sharma and his wife IRS officer Shraddha Joshi, who struggle to fulfill their dreams despite the challenges they face.

The level of embellishment in this story is insignificant as Manoj, playing the role of a coaching center teacher, navigates through life’s challenges with support, perseverance, and ultimately achieves success.

Vikrant Massey delivers a compelling and authentic portrayal of this challenging role. Additionally, Ananth V Joshi’s quirky approach adds depth to the story, engaging the audience and enhancing the sense of unity with the narrative.

Midway through the film, the audience is immersed in a tale of success and aspiration, emphasizing the importance of self-advocacy and dedication to duty. Anant Joshi captivates with his unique portrayal in ‘Kathal’, reminiscent of Madhavan’s character from 3 Idiots. He plays a boy who struggles to reveal his artistic interests to his father.

Starcast Performance

’12th Fail’ explores the complexities of life through Pandey’s character, who becomes a lifeline for Manoj but tragically loses himself to alcoholism.

While ’12th Fail’ presents a solid, thought-provoking performance, it occasionally suffers from articulation issues in its monologues, leading to moments of laziness in the storytelling. Characters are often introduced based on their religiosity, but little effort is made to delve deeper into their flaws and complexities, except for Pandey.

The portrayal of characters in “12th Fail” seems to be somewhat stereotypical, with the police officers depicted as either corrupt or exceptionally virtuous, and coaching managers portrayed as either cartoonishly evil or angelic.

Direction and Production

The love story between Manoj and Shraddha, played by Medha Shankar, feels rushed and convenient, with Shraddha appearing to easily go along with whatever is happening.

In one scene, there’s an attempt to introduce some conflict into their relationship when Shraddha spends two minutes explaining to her father that she is not sleeping with Manoj in Delhi, after which he responds with a casual “cool.” However, this scene lacks depth and fails to explore the complexities of trust and boundaries within adult relationships.

The film seems to miss an opportunity to delve into deeper themes such as self-dialogue and soul-searching, instead focusing on Manoj’s frustration and his journey of transforming his uniqueness into reality through surreal art. Despite facing setbacks and challenges, Manoj perseveres and never gives up, constantly striving to improve himself.

Yomovies Conclusion

In the final moments of the film, the audience is drawn into the tension as Manoj faces one last obstacle, and viewers are emotionally invested in his journey. Vikrant Massey delivers a compelling performance, although at times he may veer into melodrama.

The film concludes with a dedication to honest police officers, providing a refreshing departure from the typical portrayal of police forces in Hindi films. This dedication suggests that “12th Fail” aims to offer a more nuanced perspective on law enforcement rather than simply glorifying it, which is a notable aspect of the film.
